Parachute Auto Parts & Supply is locally owned and operated. Parachute Auto Parts & Supply opened in “Grand Valley” aka Parachute in early 1982 by a company from New Mexico. May 2nd 1982 know as Black Sunday, when Exxon Corporation pulled out of the oil shale project left thousands of people in the area out of work and subsequently causing people to leave the area looking for work. In the fall of 1982 the “Van Teylingen” family bought the store from the New Mexico company and it has been in the family ever since. Enduring the enormous recession caused by Black Sunday with the support of the local community. In 2003 the store moved from its original location to a brand new store at our current location at 314 East 1st Street, nearly tripling the size of the store.2007 Keith and Shawna Petree bought the store from his parents to allow for their retirement. The store is staffed by Keith Petree in the NAPA business since 1994, Bryson Minter with 14 years in the NAPA Business, Todd Garrison with 14 years in the NAPA system, David Valencia comes to the NAPA family with 20 plus years in the automotive service business, Jesus Raygosa came onboard in 2016 as he works his way through college, and of course Shawna Petree working behind the scene keeping this ship afloat.
